Set within over 500 acres of unspoilt Scottish scenery, Glenstriven House is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and accessible wild landscapes in the country. Choose a book from our well-stocked shelves and settle by the woodburner to enjoy sweeping views over the loch, or pull on a pair of wellies and head out to explore the estate.
Lochs, glens, mountains, and forests lie literally on the doorstep, where you may spot red deer, red squirrels, owls, otters, porpoises, buzzards, pine martens, and even eagles. For those seeking adventure, we offer a wide range of activities—from kayaking and cycling to clay pigeon shooting and deer stalking.
Guests can also enjoy our private games room and our own well-stocked pub, The Glenstriven Arms. Take a short stroll across the garden and help yourself to a well-earned drink—especially welcome after a day spent exploring the estate’s network of trails or an evening spent stalking in the hills.

The dramatic Cowal scenery is host to some of the most exciting deer stalking in Scotland.
For those keen to experience stalking as part of our selective cull, gameskeeper Anton can lead early morning or evening stalking sessions in the forests and hills around Glenstriven.
We also offer clay pigeon shooting on the grounds for experienced shooters or novices who'd like to try something new.

The west coast is famous for its exciting sailing and varied coastline. Toward is a popular anchorage for yachts and also has an active small boat sailing club.
For guests who'd like to explore the waters of Loch Striven, there are two kayaks available for use.
Salmon and trout fishing is also available at numerous lochs and rivers throughout the county.
